ION iCade vs Atari Arcade vs a real arcade cabinet: Classic gaming gear shootout!

Ah! the 1980?s. A time when hair was big and so were the arcades. Sure, it's 2012 now, and we have more computing power in our iPads than we used to have in our houses, but there's still many a retro gamer just itching to play the classic arcade games on a classic arcade gear. Both the Atari Arcade Duo-powered joystick for iPad and ION Audio's iCade for iPad promise just that -- to give you a flashback of the '80s on the iPad of the '10s. But which is better, and which gives the best real arcade experience?

Since the Atari Arcade vs. ION iCade has been done to death, I decided to up the ante and go full out -- I decided to put the Atari Arcade and ION iCade not only against each other but to put both of them against a full size arcade machine as well. That's right. It's on like Pong! Literally!

Shootout criteria

So how close do the Atari Arcade and ION iCade get in terms of bringing that real arcade experience to the iPad? We've run a series of tests that compare our iPad accessories to the real deal arcade cabinet. For each test we've awarded a point for matching the arcade experience, half a point for effort, or no points for getting it wrong.

Tests included looks, feel, sound, coin feeding, coin staging, aggression proofing, kick resilience, trackball options, awesome art, and two player compatibility.

There were also a few ways the pretenders were better than the real thing, so ?so we have some bonus points for the competition.

Those include portability, power efficiency, home convenience, and cost.

So which comes closest?

Here's the point where you watch the video up top and find out!

Bottom line

If you want the genuine arcade experience then get a genuine arcade cabinet!

However, for those who have a more limited budget or more limited floor space and want to relive some of the glory days of arcade gaming, judging from our results, the iCade is your best choice.

Amazing Home Improvement Tips For Every Home Owner | Exact ...

If you really find this article helpful Give it a PLUS from below and help us to spread it.

If you don?t want to refinish your ancient and weathered wooden floors, you can instead, give your home a cottage style boost. Buy some oil based paint and choose some affordable stencils. Use the stencils and paint to re-design your wooden floors. Add some cute designs in varying patterns, to give a full on-cottage look to your home.

If the snow on your roof melts very quickly, double check the insulation in your attic. Snow shouldn?t melt at all on a roof as long as the attic is keeping the heat in your house and the cold outside. Replacing the insulation will also decrease your heating bills as your heat is no longer being used to warm up the attic as well.

Install radiant heat under your new tile floors. There are kits available for the do-it-yourself homeowner, and it?s really not rocket science. It will make a dramatic difference in the ?wow? factor of your home both to guests and to potential buyers. Invite them to take their shoes off and feel the heat!

If you are plotting on painting a room as part of a home improvement project, you can save money by accurately estimating the amount of paint you will need. One gallon of paint will cover about 350 square feet of wall space, unless you are painting drywall, which absorbs more paint. An accurate estimate can prevent you from overbuying paint, which once mixed in a specific color generally can?t be returned.

Doing a new home improvement project should be accomplished in a green way to increase value. With the emphasis in the media on green building and green homes, you can get extra value by doing green renovations. It can be anything from energy star appliances to using renewable resources in renovations.

Home improvement has become a well loved pastime in recent years, and if a homeowner is somewhat handy he can increase the value of his home more than just a small. Home improvement stores are common and most offer instruction in nearly every area of home improvement. Nearly anyone can paint a room or place down flooring with a small guidance, and even those changes can increase the homes value.

Change your shower curtain once a month. Showering produces excessive humidity in a bathroom that in turn causes shower curtains to develop mold and mildew. To keep your space fresh and healthy, replace your curtains. Don?t buy expensive plastic curtains with hard to find designs, and you won?t feel terrible about replacing it.

To add an unifying effect to your home?s decor, consider painting all of the trim white (or another color that complements every room?s walls). Matching trim throughout the house adds visual continuity as you go from room to room and ties your decor together.

Always measure long and you will eliminate any errors in your cuts. If you are doing a wood floor, and you cut your pieces too small, there is no adding back after they are cut. So when cutting your flooring in tough areas, measuring a small long will give you enough to trim so you do not have waste.

In summary, there is a lot of information on the Internet to sort through and determine what is legitimate. Hopefully you not only found this resource useful but you learned something new about home improvement. With the tips that we provided and some self motivation, you should not be far off from being an expert.

Ice Rink Opens With Fanfare - The Spokesman-Review

Just when Gary Duvall was about to inquire about finding disabled veterans a home for sled hockey at the ice arena along Seltice Way four years ago, snow collapsed the facility's roof. ?The roof fell in before I had a chance to ask,? said the founder of the Inland Northwest Disabled Veterans Sports Association and a disabled vet himself. But Duvall never gave up on a dream - and neither did the Kootenai Youth Recreation Organization, the nonprofit that owns and manages the facility. And on Saturday that dream was realized during the grand opening of the Frontier Ice Arena, opening the doors for youth hockey, figure skating, curling, broomball, sled hockey and other activities. ?It's a big thing for our organization,? said Duvall, who is confined to a wheelchair. ?I've began working toward a sled hockey program four years ago. When I got on the ice (during a a winter clinic), I said that I'll have to do it again?/Brian Walker, Coeur d'Alene Press. More here. (Brian Walker CdA Press photo: Shawn Halsted demonstrates sled hockey for disabled veterans during the grand opening of Frontier Ice Arena on?Saturday)

Question: I ice-skated a little on Kalispell area ponds and lakes during my 5 years with the Daily Inter Lake in the NW Montana town. How about you. Ever ice skate? Play hockey? Or participate in any other ice?sport?

Partisan Food Fight Erupts Over NASA, Commercial Space

The republicans have continued to gut over and over the private space. In addition, they were the ones that gutted NASA back in the late 90's and stopping them from doing the original COTS program that was suggested in 1994. Worse, they have continued to fight against funding for private space while pushing multiple (3-5 Billion PER YEAR) to their key programs such as Constellation and now the god foresaken SLS.

yes, some dems have joined these dark creatures of the night, but the neo-cons that control the republican party are far more interested in helping themselves and their friends rather than the nation. Even now, I am fully aware that MY representative, Mark Coffman, takes money from a company that he KNOWS is owned by the Chinese gov. The fuck who screams patriotism would rather take money from China than help America. GD pricks.

Sadly, other than O, the dems are absolutely USELESS. They have no sense of loyalty to either nation or party. Instead, they are bunch of fuck-ups. The only reason why they do not sux worse then the neo-cons is that the neo-cons are pretty much committing treason against the nation and have been actively working to destroy unions, etc. IOW, they consider it a higher priority to destroy unions (which they could have self-destructed on their own) then to help the nation.

We need 2 answers: a third party of social moderate/fiscal conservative (nixon was the last time that a republican was a fiscal conservative), and RootStrikers to get amendments on the constitution. We need to kill off all of the dark creatures of the night within the republicans party (or simply stake them all), and re-bury the zombies in the dem party, while creating a new party.
